About Jeff

Jeff has devoted over a decade to professional legal services. This includes extensive time representing churches and nonprofits, encompassing a deep understanding of these clients’ unique challenges. Jeff has previously worked in local ministry and continues to serve actively in the community. Jeff takes pride in taking a mission-driven approach to his practice and service of clients.

Jeff provides both litigation and transactional services, including general civil litigation from intake through resolution. This encompasses the best resolution for clients, whether settlement or trial. Jeff spent multiple years litigating in local city attorneys’ offices, attending jury and bench trials dozens of times, and providing expertise in municipal law matters. This includes handling voir dire, witness examination, and full trial preparation. Jeff spent several years in private practice, litigating complex cases for myriad clients – from large public companies to small businesses and individuals. Further, Jeff previously served as a state-certified mediator in Oklahoma, helping to resolve disputes without formal court proceedings. The diverse array of experience spans corporate governance disputes to real estate lawsuits.

Jeff spent many years serving as a litigation consultant, working with top attorneys worldwide on cultivating strategies for complex cases. This includes participating in developing strategy, evaluating the use of sophisticated visual/demonstrative resources, identifying the opportunity for key jury research (such as focus groups and mock trials), and advising on the use of courtroom technology. Jeff has a keen awareness, honed over years of trial work, about effectively communicating arguments through briefing, hearings, oral and written arguments, and presentations at trial.

Furthermore, Jeff dedicated numerous years performing transactional work for churches and other clientele. This work includes real estate, landlord-tenant, commercial real estate, leasing, employment, and more. Jeff’s transactional work encompasses all areas applicable to churches. This includes, but is not limited to: formation; governance; contracts; general corporate matters; employment; guidance on federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, conflicting internal and external governing documents, inquiries, investigations; and related nonprofit matters.

Jeff and his family reside locally in DFW, actively participating in church and serving the local community. Jeff has two young children who attend school in the local area. Jeff is a University of Oklahoma Price College of Business graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law with a Juris Doctorate.
